A mixed bag

"Like most soundtrack albums, "Drive Me Crazy" is a mixed bag consisting of some catchy little numbers and several filler cuts.Among the gems are Don Philip's "Sugar", a light and breezy ditty which samples the Jackson 5's "ABC", along with notably tracks from Plumb, Jars of Clay and Phantom Planet. Also included are the expected contributions from teeny-boppers Britney Spears, who contibutes a very nicely remixed version of the album's title track, as well as cuts from the Backstreet Boys and Steps. For those with edgier tastes, there are songs from Less Than Jake (ska), The Donnas (punk) and the Barenaked Ladies and Matthew Sweet (alt.rock).Overall, this is a decent collection with a diverse roster that provides a little something for almost everyone."
Crazy Soundtrack

"I have not yet seen the film, as it has not been released as yet in Australia, which put me off purchasing this soundtrack, but after hearing smaples and seeing the A-list performers, I made the right choise by buying the soundtrack. With the soundtrack being headed with pop sensations Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Steps and The Tamperer featuring Maya, customers were probably expecting poppy sounds the whole way through but theres something for everybody in this soundtrack. Britney Spears heads the soundtrack with a remix of the title track (You Drive Me) Crazy, Backstreet Boys' Iwant It That Way is given new life with a mix as is Steps' track One For Sorrow. Barenaked Ladies, Matthew Sweet and Phantom Planet are mainly the rock/alternative strand on the CD and dance DJ The Tamperer does a good job with his dance tune Hammer To The Heart with the vocals supplied by Maya. Newcomer Don Phillip has a highlight with the track Sugar which features a sample of the Jackson 5 track ABC. Overall this was a great Cd and the movie should be just as satisfying."

"Don't let Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears fool you: this is not a jumble of meaningless sugar pop songs. Sure, some of the songs are so poppy that it could give you cavaties, but there are some really good songs here. First off, Britney Spears's song Crazy is the radio version (Not the album version) with the really cool "Stop!" part. It is a killer remix that was super popular. The Backstreet Boys's hit song I Want It That Way was spiced up a bit for a fast paced version that is as good as the original. However, there are some adult contemporary and alternative rock songs on here. The Barenaked Ladies, Donnas, Matthew Sweet and Phantom Planet provide some really good tracks to this compilation. Don Phillip's song Sugar is superb. The Jars Of Clay song is pretty good too. I love this CD. I use it a ton in my dance classes, and I still haven't gotten tired of it. If you like lots of musical styles, then get this as soon as possible. It's worth every penny."
It's pretty good.

""Drive me crazy" was one of best romantic teen comedy's I've seen in along time,so when the soundtrack came out ,I was kinda compelled to buy it.Just let me tell you right now ,this is one the best soundtracks ever, there is not a song on this cd that I can't tolerate. My favorite song is by The Donnas, entitled "Keep on loving you" (even though I think REO Speedwagon did a much superior job). Then my second favorite song is by Jars of clay entitled "Unforgettful you". I know I said I liked all of the songs but there is one song that I can't stand. It's by The Backstreet boys,"I want it that way".The original version I can tolerate, but Jack D. Elliot has murdered the song with his crappy remix. But, besides that one flaw ,this is a really good soundtrack that deserves to be put in everyones cd collection.Enjoy the soundtrack."
