"An anointed renowned vocalist, Vanessa Bell Armstrong truly shined on this album. The R&B flavor of this album was ahead of its time in terms of production quality and its blend of traditional gospel and mainstream r&B. The songs "Pressing On", "You Bring Out The Best In Me" and "Living For You", could have easily been played on urban radio without anyone batting an eye. Lyrically vague at first listen, these songs contained funk grooves that were comparable to the secular contemporary music of the time. However, when one listened to the lyrics, the Christian message was certainly in effect and noone can deny the anointing in Vanessa's voice. "The Denied Stone", a powerful inspirational song, is my favorite track on this album. Released in '87, this album is a timeless classic. Along with her most recent Live in Detroit CD, these recordings display Vanessa Bell Armstrong at her best."
