"This CD is infectious!! It is way more than 5 stars. It is my weekend at the beach CD. This is an instrumental album with the most gorgeous 6 string and pedal steel tones you're likely to hear on earth. It's strictly a CD where less notes make for more mood- These guys have the mood! The long board on the big wave....a beer at the tiki bar....then home for some mood time with the lava lamp...Groovy! Oh, there is 1 bad thing about the Vanduras, there's only 1 CD. Kick it in gear, bro! get us more sounds!"
My Favorite Surf Music

"This is a gorgeous work. It's as sophisticated as surf music can get without losing the warm, wonderful casual feelings it evokes--I keep thinking of a bonfire by the surf at sunset after a day of surfing when I put on this CD. Makes wonderful background music. My favorite on this CD is Cybele's Reverie. I own lots of other surf music, but this is the one I recommend the highest. I hope the group produces more."
What WAS that cd? diggin for gold...

"my girlfriend and i were shopping at this really cool clothing store
and the Vanduras cd came on...we asked the salesgirl what it was
and she said that her best friend made it. little did we know that
it was from a real band and available in Amazon. i only found it
after a big search. i listened to every surf guitar record on the site..
and finally...there it was!!! 3 copies later...its still my favorite.
see..you never know what youll find if you keep your ears
and mind open. listen carefully. its beautiful."
In The Dark-The Vanduras

"I was in my favorite record store today just browsing around. I heard this great tune over the sound system. I was going to ask the guy behind the desk what it was, but as I was walking over, some girl beat me to it. She asks and the guy said "It's the Vanduras' in a kind of irritated voice (you know how the who work people in record stores act, like kind of superior). When she left, I walked up and asked, "Who's the Vanduras?" "Dude" he said, "Everyone's been asking about this when we play it. It's two guys playing guitars and keyboards. There's no vocals, just really good music". I started to ask him if I could look at the box, but he said kind of nasty. "Why don't you just buy it?" and walked away. Screw that! The rest of Vanduras was playing, so I hung around and listened to the rest of it. He was right.
It was really good. Kind of like Stereolab but not so spacey and wussed out. I headed out
and went to the mall to buy it. Usually, I get my CD's from Amazon, but I couldn't wait on his one.. I got it home and listened. Been doing that for about a week now. I really like
everything on it.Especially "The Big Hurt", "Cybele's Reverie", "Dinner With Robert" and "In The Dark". The sound is sort of new and sort of old, like music you hear in a dream or in a cool movie. I listen to The Vanduras in my car, when I'm foot cruising with my Walk Man and when I'm just kickin' in the pad. I can't wait until my girlfriend gets here for summer break. Vanduras will be the soundtrack for our beautiful reunion, if you know what I mean."
Both my parents, my friends, and I love it and Im only 16.

"last weekend while visiting my cool aunt in Los Angeles,
she gave me her new favorite cd called In the Dark by the Van
duras. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first...Im in to retro 80s classic punk....and since Im 16..I can be a brat about what I like and dont like. I brought it home to my "easy listening" mom and dad AND my 18 yr old "emo-only" weirdo older brother and they all loved it. It hasnt been off the family cd player in a long time.
This really pisses me off sometimes cuz I dont get to listen to it as much as I want to. All of my girlfiends want them to play at our prom but figure that Geof and Gary Brandin are probably playing real gigs somewhere....
every song is my favorite but my mom plays Dinner with Robert over and over and over...(thats my dads name....what...ever!!)
anyway ...this cd is cool and Im gonna pass along the word to my entire school."
