"Two bands, one CD. Good plan, good hard rock. Van Conner of the Screaming Trees and his brother Patrick lay down some great riffs. The songs are full on. Dan Peters of Mudhoney wails on the Drums. Kurt Danielson of Tad puts down his normal thunder god bass lines. Kitty Kitty, another great band has songs that take you through emotional ups and downs and leaves you wasted with a smile on your face. The production, by Van Connner also rules. Check this one out. A well spent * bucks."
Valis/Kitty Kitty - Split CD (Man's Ruin)

"'Valis' features bassist Van Conner(Screaming Trees),guitarist Kurt Danielson(Tad)and drummer Dan Peters(Mudhoney). With a line-up like that, one can only expect at least a pretty good effort, and this 'Valis/Kitty Kitty' split is just that.Maybe nothing outstanding or even ground-breaking,but a full-hearted piece of recorded work,no doubt. The listener should keep in mind that you get four(4)tunes from each band.Valis is more or less just good inspiring rock&roll. However,'Kitty Kitty',which is Conner's other ensemble is more like 'raw played punk' with an edge to it.The tunes I thought stood out were "Venus In Red",the rocking "Friday's Done" and "The Kids Are Upset".To bad the label Man's Ruin is no longer. They did release some really good CD's.At least,I thought so."
GREAT MUSIC!!
