"Because I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have been fortunate to be able to see the Vagabond Lovers (better known by their former name and now renewed name Naked Barbies) live, for many years, from their very first show (I was one of only 8 people in the audience) through their latest shows. This album is great for people who live indie rock/pop on par with the Cowboy Junkies, my other favorite band. Every song is nicely done, my favorites being Junkie, Drive, and Living Independently."

Why Aren't These Guys Famous?

"Irresistible tunes and bluesy ballads, delivered with acrobatic soul by one of America's most mystifyingly undiscovered singers. What is it with the music industry, anyway? Why don't I get to hear Patty Spiglanin on the radio instead of another breathy Tori Amos croon? "Midnight Radio" and "Division Street" are instant classics; in fact there's not a dull number on this album. One of those rare CDs that I loved from the very first listening."
A worthwhile addition to any library!

"Spiglanin excels in a nice cross-section of beautifully balanced easy melodies over blue-collar poetry. Like sipping a rare, smooth cognac. One gets the feeling she's in the room, slowly bringing the listener to a state of euphoria. Excellent packaging and production for this hard-working Oakland band that has been steadily refining its unique groove for years. On some tracks, Spiglanin's vocals touch on greatness. Listen for the potential of superstardom in the chorus of "Division Street". Then listen again."
