Vader De Profundis//Future of the Past Genre:Metal 1995's De Profundis is paired with 1996's Future of the Past on this limited edition 2003 release from System Shock Records.
"Hailing from the darkest regions of the underworld,(o.k. Poland) Vader wants only one thing, the removal of your head from your body. With "De Profundis" they accomplish their objective with brutal swiftness. Just listen to the drumming on the first track "Silent Empire" and try not to get Whiplash! The rest of the album follows suit with brutal guitars and otherworldly growling. You cannot honestly call yourself a fan of Death Metal and not own this record, 'nuff said............."
Meticulous metal massacre

"How Vader managed to pull this one off without being sued by Slayer or Bolt Thrower is beyond me. Anyway, this record has some of the best riffs I have ever heard. These guys have the ability to walk the fine line and be named in the same group with Morbid Angel, Slayer, and so on. Piotr's vocals are as raspy as ever, and the insane double base drumming by Doc is ear shattering. The opening of "Sothis" is so fast and brutal, but everything can be heard cleary. Top notch producing for a death metal band is unheard of, but with Vader, that is not the case. If you consider yourself a fan of death metal and you do not own this, please remove your ears; you are not using them correctly."
An act of Vader

"Vader is a Metal band that blends Thrash and Death Metal with Slayer as the general ancestor. Vader appears more technically refined and more powerful fresh with neurotic Flavour.
The very fast use of chords is lead under an assimilation of chaos. Production is clear making the music extremely powerful.
Once the listener falls into the layer of Vader it will seems intoxicating. Most impressive is the precision and accuracy of the riffs creating a very natural balance in the complex compositions. Standouts are Silent Empire, Blood of Kingu and Incarnation."

"In my opinion "De Profundis" is the best death metal album ever!
The best songs: "Sothis", "Silent Empire" and "Blood Of Kingu".
If you don't have any Vader album - buy it, because this is total metal classic!"
A Top Thrash Album

"Vader's "De Profundis" (1995) belongs in the top 10 albums every thrash fan should own. This is in the same league from both a musical and production standpoint as Slayer's "Hell Awaits" and "Reign in Blood" and Kreator's "Pleasure to Kill." The dual guitar work is tight and complex without being too technical; very similar to Slayer.
Having been around for 20+ years and a release each year since 1992, Vader is extremely consistent. What sets this album apart from the rest is mainly the drums. The mix is lethal--the snare pierces through the guitar onslaught and the tempos are very invigorating.
The icing on the cake is the inclusion of the 1996 "Future of the Past" cover album. The production is almost identical, so it is an easy transition from De Profundis. Their selection of covers and the speed and accuracy in which they play them are very impressive: Sodom's "In the Sign of Evil," Kreator's "Flag of Hate," Terrorizer's "Storm of Stress" and "Fear of Napalm" to name just a few. I could do without Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath" and Depeche Mode's "I.F.Y.," but two crappy tracks at the end of an otherwise golden 20-track double CD is nothing to complain about."
