CD ReviewsEnjoying Life With Utada Juavette Pulliam | 04/07/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Utada Hikaru is one of Japan's biggest sensations and this single continues her streak of amazing releases. Currently divorced, she seems to have fueled that emotion into the song. You can really hear her when she hits those high notes and it's a good contrast with the verses, which are sung rather low. Many people agree that the ballad version of the song is much better but I prefer the original. More uptempo and catchier, Utada breaks barriers with this one. With meaningful lyrics and passion in her voice, you yourself can enjoy the flavor of life along with her. My favorite part of the song is the ending and the couple of seconds of instruemental breakdown. It makes the song all the more enjoyable and worth the listen. While I prefer the original, the ballad version of the song definitely shouldn't be overlooked. The beat is much slower and Utada stretches farther with her vocal range [especially the end]. The accompanying PV for the song is simple but it's also very enjoyable. If you enjoy Utada Hikaru's music, then you'll enjoy this single since Utada put her heart into this one and you can really feel it. Enjoy the flavor of life!" One of the greatest singles I've ever heard timmyraven | 05/12/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "I like the three versions of Flavor of Life. My favorite is the original, it has a cool beat and Utada sounds natural singing it. The ballad version is more slow and has a more melancholic feel to it, and it is good, so some people may prefer it over the original. The great thing about the antidote mix is that her voice blends with the funky music in the background. Love the symbolism on the CD cover, Hikki :D !" Love it Nada N.
