"First things first...their drummer Pedro (...) rules on this cd, you can hear him loud and clear, i think thats great. Another thing i like about this album is the straight rock sound that Unloco has on both of their albums. The flaw of this cd is some of the lyrics, but hey its their 1st cd. So yea, great drums, and a very nice bass solo on "Panic" (one of my favs)1.Useless: Great song, really original i like how it just starts out w/ no delay, good stuff. Joey's lyrics are really good in this song also. One of my favs.2.Clean: Its an ok song...the first example of generic lyrics, and the weird techno beat intro thing is kinda pointless. But yea, decent song.3.Niave: I really like this song, the verse blend right into the chorus, really agressive vocals and lyrics, heavy guitars. I really like this one. Another fav of mine.4.Face Down: I really enjoyed the lyrics to this song, its something i can relate to. Once again great playing by each member, still havent forgot Pedro (Pete). A fav.5.Far Side: A decent song, the vocals and lyrics at the end are awesome though.6.Panic: Almost a rapping thing going on w/ the vocals. Really awesome bass solo at the beginning. The chorus is pretty nice.
One of my favs.7.Nothing: A really heavy, aggressive song. I like the screams from Joey, its got everything you'd want in a heavy song. A semi-fav.8.Know One: Sounds like youre riding a horse. The instruments all blend together to make it. It's a good song, lyrics need work but hey its their first cd like i said before.9.Less Of: a bit of a misleading song, you think its gonna be a slower one, but once it hits the chorus youre launch into a heavy song. Dope playing, nice screams, i like it.10.Reckoning: I really like the verses to this song. But the chorus has got repetitive lyrics, but hey its alright. i like the "i'm not God but i can be".11.Whimper: Its kinda like "Reckoning" but its got a dope little "rapping" section at the end which makes up for it. But yea, Pedro's still goin.12. Bystander: The longest song of the cd, but i didnt get bored listening to it. trademark Unloco sound, i like the vocals in this one and the verses. So yea, all around its a dope cd, good for their 1st cd. Its always fun to see how a band grows."

"I've had this Cd for awhile and I have to say I like this better than Unloco's other album "Becoming i". Both are awesome though and if you like this one please be sure and check out thier other cd. As for my review I say that this band has been extremely underated and buried for much to long. They aren't the most innovative band in the world but thier music will get you rocking like no other. My personal favorite tracks are probably "Panic" and "Face Down". All the tracks are awesome though. If you are a modern rock fan give Unloco a chance I think they are worth a listen. :)"
An excellent, often over-looked debut

"Looking back on things, now that the band has broken up, it's hard to see why Unloco never really achieved true success. When they came out in 2001, other like-minded bands (Papa Roach, P.O.D., Disturbed, Linkin Park, etc. etc.) had broken through into the mainstream, and it seemed like a perfect time for Unloco to make their mark. Unfortunately, after their second album failed to make a mark, the band split up and all we are left with is two albums of theirs to choose from. This effort, "Healing," is in my opinion, the better of the two. More original than most nu-metal bands out there, Unloco combine grinding riffs with emotional lyrics and melodic singing. "Nothing" and "Useless" show the more abrasive side of their music, while the single "Face Down" shows the band at a softer pace, and serves as one of the key points of this album. "Far Side" and "Naive" also come to mind as favorites, but the album is solid all the way through. Try not to overlook this band just because of their somewhat cliched nu-metal name or what bands they may get clustered with. I do, however, recommend this album before their last one, "Becoming I." "Healing" is simply an excellent album that any rock fan can appreciate."
