"Since the Unknown Prophets' debut in 1998 ("The Prophecy"), they've continued to grow and mature in a way that very few artists could or ever will. Big Jess (producer/emcee), Mad Son (emcee), and Willie Lose (DJ) continue to improve upon their styles with every release. What once started as a dark meandering formula has now blossomed into a beautiful positive vibe with inventive grooves and trend-setting production. They simply aren't doing the same thing as everyone else. Their lyrics and approach set them apart in a huge way. The mid-west underground hip-hop scene is notorious for a lot of variety in there music. So much that it's hard to pin them down to a specific region like you could with the west or east coast.

This EP is definitely different than one of there full-length's. They usually jam pack those with 70-80 minutes of material. The range of lyrical topics go from bragging and boasting, stories, life experience, family life, tragedies, the need to be heard (and reach the masses), and Independence. They come with very conscious and heartfelt lyrics. "The W.E.T. EP" simply doesn't have enough time to fit all these elements in (clocking in at about 33 minutes). "Look At Us Now" and the show favorite "Just Like You" seem to standout nicely. The best track has got to be "Writer's Block", which boasts a very addictive chorus intertwined with the vocals of Brent Snyder. A man that would be more prominently featuring in their later works.

If you think that the Unknown Prophets don't have much to offer this genre, then think again. Just because you haven't heard of them (I'm guessing), doesn't mean they have less substance or talent. Jump on the band wagon before they go broke (or get huge)."
