"Little known and worthy of many people's attention, S. Pants, aka 'Unit' releases his first EP of highly superb material. This 4 track EP reeks of quality and precedes his full length 'The Narcolyptic Symphony'. Released on the sub-par label Caipirinha, 'Hello My Name Is' is a collection of quality electronic/techno music. So good in fact that i will break down each lovely track for your reading pleasure...1. We Are In Love - Starts with a spooky looped synth and changes totally to a choppy drum and bass style beat and bouncey synths. The beats are a bit sloppy and the synths jump out at you, but they really just tag along. Definately the weakest track on this release (though it's decent!)2. Haldol - Unit's standard keyboard style flowing synths start this track off and are joined by increasingly busy beats. A great choir vocal tone mysteriously joins and the beats get harsher. The focus shifts back toward the beginning of the track and a nice, simple synth melody helps fade out the track.3. 1.4 Four - This oddly put together track is absolutely brilliant. It is one of my favourite electronic tracks of all time. The sloppy beginning is both spooky and the cropped vocal snip plops in strangely. Then the harsh acid synth wavers and the beat increases in intensity. It builds and builds and almost loses control! When it stops at the 3.30 point a lush keyboard synth takes over and is shortly joined by timekeeping hi-hats. A different boom begins now as the bass hits hard and the accompanying synths add to the intensity. Finally a new melodic synth joins in adding to the other previous sounds and it all merges into one of the best harder techno tracks I've ever heard.4. Tri Parallax - More of Unit's simple keyboard synths with thier spooky edge. A simpler midtempo glider with full synth additions and various quirkiness to boot. Takes a while to fade out but it's still effective. In general, Hello My Name Is shouldn't be missed. If I had a choice between either this EP or Unit's full length, I would choose the EP even though it is half its length (27 minutes). Unit deserves plenty of recognition for this release."
Totally kicks

"Experimental techno, eerie pads behind crazy electro-drums, patterns like D&B, transcendent at times, dark in the underworlds at others, absolutely brilliant. Save for elevated aural experiences."
