Bruce Lee [Short Version] - Underworld, Underworld [1]
Using a typically deft DJ touch, Karl Hyde and his sharp-eared cohorts flesh out a compelling collection of new textures and beats on these extrapolations from the original singles on Underworld's excellent 1999 release Be... more »aucoup Fish. In typical remix fashion, thematic tidbits get deconstructed and rebuilt, framing familiar songs with new settings. However, Underworld's low-key tactics make these small nuggets of rhythm or intriguing melodic elements sneak up on you. Check out how the "Jedis Sugar Hit Mix" of "Jumbo" takes a naked central melody and cuts it up into snippets of synthesized bliss that gradually lend the song an entirely different texture and direction. When the song kicks into gear for real, those spare snippets are washed away with oceanic blasts of keyboard and rhythm. By stripping the original rhythms and melodies bare, most of these mixes open enticing new musical avenues, often producing song versions that match, or even surpass, their predecessors. "First off, If you're in the U.S., this is well worth the money it costs. If you bought the 7 import singles that make-up this box you would easily spend about 80 bucks. More importantly is what is on the discs! Amazing mixes galore, new stuff, plus video = must buy! I happen to fancy the Barking Mix of King of Snake , the Cups orchestra version and all the Bruce Lee stuff. Karl and the boys really care about the fans. nuff said, I need sugar. -Cary"
A worthy purchase for any Underworld fans

"I know what your thinking... why get a CD with songs that I already own? Even though this are songs on Beaucoup fish, most of them sound completely different (but not all of them). If you liked Beaucoup you'll most likely what to get this. And the fatboy slim remix of kos is a masterpiece, many claim it to be the fatboy's best remix. So why not 5 stars? Some of the remixes are too repetive or just lame, yet the good ones outweigh the bad. So overall, get this CD but only if you have the other 2 full CD's from underworld. If not, get those first. This CD Box Set is for true fans."

"Fat Boy Slim remix of "King of Snake" and the Jedi Sugar Hit Mix of "Jumbo" alone are worth this box set. Remember that there is also the "King of Snake" video in the cd single. But now before it's too late, this box is limited edition."

"Fans must have it. Obviously there is some filler here and a lot of stand out mixes of already amazing singles. It is really fun to put these in your CD changer and hit "random play"."
AN AMAZING SET FOR A DECENT PRICE!

"This set includes some pretty impressive remixes. I would highly recommend this to the die-hard Underworld fan just to hear what other people can do to their already amazing songs. The spin on the songs as usual create impressive sounds and break the mad beats, like fred flinstone jumpin around with bald feet! Get it while you can!-Grandad Girolamo"
