CD Reviews

Great buy for fans/completists
Matthew Knight | Seattle, WA USA | 10/22/2002
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I have previously enjoyed Underworld's non-album tracks more than other people's remixes (Fatboy Slim's King of Snake being one of the notable exceptions), and this single is no different. The radio edit is your typical short and very similar track. Of the 2 remixes, the first is kind of house-y and the King Unique Sunspots is kind of techno-trancy. Both are good, but not great. The real reasons to buy this single are the 2 non-album tracks. Tiny Clicks is a short, calm track with a repeating guitar line that's similar to Push Downstairs, or perhaps Stagger from Second Toughest. Headset begins with a mellow synth melody similar in some respects to the opening of Thing in a Book (Second Hand on the Ibiza Afterhours CD). The same woman who provides vocals on some of 100 Days Off's tracks speaks throughout the 1st half of the song, and then the synth crescendos into this great climax. No drums, just a simple but powerful intensity. It's wonderful. This CD is certainly not necessary, but it is a great buy for the true fan and completist."
Your better off buying the album

"This import is very pricey but this is one of the best dance trax ever made and is voted by many popular mags and charts as in the top 5 dance trax ever made which says a lot. The sound is like a cross between orbital and "fluffy little clouds" but it is a real uplifting beat with lots of chimes and great vocals which do not spoil the tune too much. Its up, up and up some more. A very emotional dance trax that everyone will love."
