"I might be weird but I think everything after this album from UFO sucks, I just love there first 3 albums. They have such a raw kinda Hawkwind sound but with more of a blues feel to it."
Maybe you had to be there

"Yes, the band was still somewhat amateurish, forming and experimenting with their sound and class of music. They were doing lots of covers early on too, but so were many bands that begun in this era. They certainly did adjust more to the street rock moniker after Phenomenon and became more refined and focused, though I feel their music was in many ways quite unique and showed much of the raw talent that was involved with the core of the band.

I really don't agree that Mick Bolton was a bad guitar player,(could of shown shredders like Van Halen a thing or 2);for his type of playing he was quite good indeed and remember him well for his wah wah efforts and great jams. Actually listen to Treacle People, Boogie For George and Prince, etc with an 'open ear'.

Frankly, a REAL UFO fan finds much to be enjoyed from ALL of their eras. One reason for the extreme prejudice is clearly that many later fans simply weren't there when the band was making these albums and have no recollection of the styles of music of the late 60's and early 70's or growing up with early Ufo as some of us did having no conception of what the music was about and could care less-period.

I'm down off the soap box and this is an interesting live cd-These guys always rocked hard-Enjoy It!"

"This is a real raw live rock album. The other other reviewers calling this "amature" need to take a clue. Don't expect this to be "Strangers in the Night". What it is is a snap shot of a very early UFO playing their hearts out in the club circuit with Mick Bolton on guitars, and man can he play. It's unfair and irresponsible to compare him to Schenker who is a completely different guitarist. I enjoy every minute of this live set because of Bolton's smokeing blues leads. The whole group is just tears up the stage, please just get this and listen to what a great guitarist Mick Bolton was."
