It's hard to draw comparisons-and almost seems rude to do so to a cd that has the depth to be a decisive and seminal release but remnants of a stripped down Lightnin' Hopkins added to a Bukowski-esque lyricist come to mind immediately. Romance, poetry and pathos reign here as a calling card for the broken hearted delivered with Tyla's signature throaty rasp which makes it all the more provocative and quite frankly, real.
