Jiggs Whigham is an internationally acclaimed trombonist, bandleader and educator. This versatile performer first came to the attention of critics and fans as featured soloist and first trombonist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra directed by Ray McKinley. Two years later, he was first and solo trombonist with Stan Kenton?s Orchestra. Following a year of studio and Broadway musical engagements in New York, he became featured soloist with the Kurt Edelhagen Jazz Orchestra at the West German Broadcasting Company in Cologne. In 1966, he was awarded First Prize at the first modern jazz competition in Vienna. Whigham is currently conductor of the BBC Big Band and artistic director of the Berlin Jazz Orchestra. Wolfgang Köhler has established himself in the national and international jazz scene playing with Ronnie Stevenson, Ack van Rooyen, Billy Elgard, Herb Geller, Benny Bailey and many more. He has composed several musical shows and film scores, and is a professor of jazz piano at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin.
