""When you hear music, after it's over, it's gone in the air. You can never capture it again." These famous words uttered on tape by Eric Dolphy for his 1964 album Last Date, also accurately describe the musical conversations that transpired when drummer Bill Bruford and pianist Michiel Borstlap took to the stage in various locations during 2007. Lucky for us, a dozen of these improvised pieces were captured on tape magnificently for this new cd. As Mr. Bruford describes the music,"it had the gossamer thin toe-hold on existence of the butterfly." These two great musicians obviously enjoy each others' musical company and the results are spectacular! No two pieces sound the same, and they are all infused with marvelous interplay, rhythmic invention, and a logical continuity that make for a great listening experience. More, please!"

"Not only is this the best piece of work from Bruford in my collection, it is the most exciting piece of Jazz I've heard in a long time. I don't want to oversell this. Some of the best experiences in music are to be discovered and not to be pushed or hyped but I have enjoyed listening to "In Two Minds" over and over. Fine work!"
