"They reigned victorious on the battlefield and voyaged the Varangian Way, now Turisas kick down the door of a . . . disco?! and despite how odd a mix this is (I mean, really, disco and metal?) it works amazingly well.



For one, the song "Rasputin" uses part of a Turkish Folk Song. One of the destinations on the Varangian Way was Constantinople, which is modern day Istanbul. Turisas is no stranger to Turkey.



Secondly, after hearing Boney M's original of "Rasputin", I have to say that Turisas' version is far superior--this coming from a guy who listens to disco/techno the few times I'm not listening to metal. The Turisas cover is so much more lively and catchy.



Also included is "Battle Metal", but if you haven't heard that yet, how on earth did you manage to find this single?

So if this is your first battle with Turisas, I applaud your excellent taste, but don't forget to get their first two albums.



But assuming most people looking at this single are already familiar with the band, the music is certainly awesome, but I have to detract a star for the lack of the music video (check their myspace, it's really good!). I mean, if you're going to take the time and effort to make a good music video, then why not include it with the single as well?"
