"The Chou single is a great example of Tsukiko Amano's versatile style. The first track is dark and intense, while the second is light-hearted and playful. For those who don't already know, Chou was used as the theme in the video game thriller, 'Fatal Frame 2', AKA 'Project Zero 2'(her single Koe is also the theme in the following title).
You don't have to understand Japanese to know that the lyrics are powerful and passionately sung. The music itself is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern day instruments. The song opens softly before quickly growing in intensity, until it reaches its dramatic closing. The total length is respectable for a mere single: over ten minutes. The title track is nearly six minutes long, while the second track is a little over four.
All in all, it is a wonderful example of Tsukiko Amano's work. Anyone who is interested in her music but are looking to sample it first before purchasing a complete CD, I would highly recommend starting here. For anyone who has never heard of her before but are looking for something besides the average color-by-number popstar, her work is a wonderful alternative."
