CD ReviewsOverlooked solid hair metal band! Al Kane | London, UK | 06/26/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "Trouble Tribe were a late entry into the hard rock scene of the late 80's to the early 90's which included more popular acts such as Warrant, Firehouse, Steelheart, Lillian Axe etc. - had they been out before the grunge rock explosion i reckon they could have been a lot bigger. Apart from the two bands named above they closely play like Danger Danger's first two albums on many songs but with a harder Babylon A.D. sound on others. Decent singer, good guitarist and a drummer with serious beat. "Tattoo" is a great drum heavy opening track that sets the tone. "Boys Nite Out" is my favorite rocker on this album while "Dear Prudence" is a power ballad that matches ANY similar band of their era. All in all a CD i highly recoommend in tracking down if you like that style - it would have got 5 stars if it wasn't for a couple
of tracks like "One By One" which have a 2nd rate AOR album filler feel to them. However, this is still a superior debut effort of that pop metal style and is better than many bands like Trixter (sorry guys - u still Rok!) who caught the young female teenagers eyes at the time and sold more records!" |
