"I've seen this group perform live. I've listened to their compact discs. "Who Killed the Viola Player" is a significant contribution to the chamber music literature of modern times. For chamber music to continue as a viable medium, musicians must become unwilling to settle for simple re-creations of the past. Triology pushes through this envelope with improvisation, unique tone colors, added instruments (where tasteful and needed), and a strong sense of humor. Although fully capable of performing the standard repertoire at the highest level, this group instead chooses to focus on folk tunes, movie music theme-works, and original compositions that provide the listener with the type of musical stimulation provided by absolute musicianship. "Who Killed the Viola Player?" is easily accessible to the lay listener, yet it offers musical interest and challenge to the most seasoned audiophile. If you choose to purchase this compact disc, you will be rewarded uniquely with each listening. If you choose to see them in concert, the event will rival any you have encountered. As a music professor, I highly recommend that you give this disc and this ensemble your full attention!"
