CD ReviewsOtherworldly music like nothing else you have heard. gnemesis | Auburn, WA USA | 05/18/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "The now-defunct Seattle world/trance/DEFIES CATEGORIZATION group Trillian Green was an absolute treasure. This, the first of 2 studio releases, lacks the polished production of the sophomore CD "Metamorphoses", but what it lacks in polish it MORE than makes up for in artistry and emotion. Cellist Christine Gunn simply amazes even the most jaded listener with sounds that do not seem possible from her chosen instrument. Flutist Ben Klein exhibits skill and showmanship reminiscent of a youthful Ian Anderson. Tying the whole tapestry together is percussionist Jarrod Kaplan, who you simply have to hear to believe; the speed and finesse he displays on djembe provides the foundation upon which all the other magic is cast.I would love to suggest something to compare this music to... but there is nothing. You might listen to some tracks from Metamorphoses (http://www.omnivine.com/sounds.html), or to the creations of one of the other bands percussionist Jarrod Kaplan has been in, (Hanuman, or his current endeavor, Taarka). Both can be sampled at the URL above. But in the end, Trillian Green was something utterly unique, and this, in my opinion, their finest work."
