"Although one song doesn't make a singer, Heidi Newfield, Trick Pony's lead vocalist, seems to have that bit of an edge to her voice that elevates her from the all too common, just another pretty face with a decent voice, to the real thing--the real thing in her case being a voice that brings to mind a combination of the soulfulness of a Bonnie Raitt, the raw energy of a Melissa Etheridge, and a touch of the sheer beauty of a Mary Chapin Carpenter. Although country is her music of choice, she sounds as though she has the capability to venture into a variety of musical directions. For our sake, let's hope that she and the band explore them all."

"Personally, I think Trick Pony's new song Pour Me, is wonderful!! The whole song is great, from the voices to the music. I am sure they will be around for a long, long time."
