"Treat have come out of nowhere to deliver a rock solid melodic album that will be among the absolute best this year. Let's start with the amazing intensity of this album. Every song is a winner and there is no point at which this album takes a breather. The performances by all the band members are excellent and the vocals are huge. This has got one of the best production jobs of recent times with massive guitars and drums and excellent keyboards rounding out the sound. The riffs and solos sound great and there's that thumping rythm section too. The highlight for me is the fact that every song has a powerful pre chorus and chorus combination that explodes out of the speakers. There's alot of outstanding songs on this album from the opener "The War Is Over" and the groovy "Paper Tiger" to the power ballad "A Life To Die For". I can easily recommend this to fans of quality melodic hard rock music like House of Lords, Leverage, and Eden's Curse - certainly one of the best of 2010."

"Funny thing about all of this was when I was living in Germany back in the early 90's and I stumbled upon a small German record store just outside my army base. I began to check out all the new music from the European bands to see what was out there since I was new to the European music scene. Among my favs at that time were bands such as: Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Yngwie Malmsteen, Europe, along with the Scorpions, Bonfire, and Accept from Germany.
Then I stumbled upon a CD from a band called 'Treat' which I had NEVER heard of?? The store owner allowed me to listen to a sample from this band. The name of the CD was 'Organized Crime' and from that first sample back in 1990 I was HOOKED on this band!!! The melodies, the guitar riffs of Anders Wikstrom, the beat, the strong keyboards and the pulsating bass playing really attracted me to these guys. And when I really started getting into them...they were GONE!! Broke up in '93 and were never heard from again. It wasn't until 2006 #13 yrs LATER# when they released a 'greatest hits' CD along with 2 'new' songs.
Next thing you know...rumors came about that this band 'might' be re-organizing itself once more?? And yes, here it is folks..4 yrs later in 2010 with 14 brand spanking new tracks-----Treat is BACK!!!! And back with a vengeance I might add!!!! Again we have a new Treat 'sound' with a classic twist. The 'new' Treat of 2010 hasn't missed a beat and this CD proves it!! Of all the Treat albums I have to admit that 'Coup De Grace' has outdone itself by a large margin. The sound is better. The songs are of a band which has matured itself with grace.
The vocals of Robert Ernlund are as good now as they ever were!! The awesome riffs of lead guitarist Anders Wikstrom are STRONGER than EVER!!! Jamie Borger #ex Talisman# leads the band with his powerful beats on the drums. Patrik Appelgren is back on keyboards, and the newest member of the band-- Nalle Pahlsson is quite an impressive bass player considering he was once a 'fan' of the band who is now part OF the band.
All you have to do is sample 'Roar', 'We Own the Night', 'All In', and 'The War is Over' to see what I mean. One of my favs is the ballad 'A Life to Die For' which is a MUST to listen to if you love power ballads. This song could easily make the radio airwaves here in the States if they would give it a shot as it is a song for today's new music fans.
I can't explain anything more other than if you are a fan of hard rock and 80's metal music and you want to hear one"
