"I was looking forward to checking out Tragedy Khadafi's latest release "Thug Matrix" (2005). I feel like his last two albums (Against All Odds, Still Reportin') are slept on gems. This one unfortunately does not live up to the previous two, due to some lackluster production from well known producers who have the ability to do a lot better- Alchemist, Havoc, Scram Jones (did they give their leftovers to tragedy?) and newer producers who don't make a mark either. Lyrically I found Tragedy far more entertaining on his previous two albums as well. My favorite cut on this one is the "The Game", Tragedy and Mobb Deep's Havoc shine on this one delivering a memorable collaboration. Littles and Trag deliver a raw track with "Stay Free". Tragedy comes through well on the thugged out "I Don't Wanna Live No More". Tragedy and Havoc reunite for the closer "Blinded By Silence". Hopefully Havoc will do Hip Hop a favor one of these days by dropping a solo album. Like a previous reviewer mentioned some of this material has been around for awhile, hopefully Tragedy Khadafi released "Thug Matrix" to give his fans something to listen to while he prepares another great release. If you're new to Tragedy Khadafi I recommend checking out his previous work and if you're a die-hard fan you probably wont like this review."
