Our Town Goodbye

"Americans are always moving, or being moved away from. That often means saying "goodbye." This is an album evoking those feelings of freedom, regret, loss and starting anew. No, their version of "Our Town" is not the same as Iris DeMent's, but why make it a competition? Don't overlook how Jody and Kate's version fits into the seamless sequencing of this album! Englishman Martin Carthy is right in telling us Americans that Jody Stecher is a national treasure. So is Kate Brislin. This is one Grammy Award winner I could get behind. (Pops Staples "Father, Father" was another.) Folk, schmolk: this a great American album like Wrecking Ball, The Basement Tapes, or Spirit in the Dark. Great musicianship and singing. I can't believe you don't have this already!"
