"This is one of the best CDs in my collection. In it you can hear the influences of many blues greats such as Big Bill Broonzy and Big Joe Turner, but Jimmy made every song his own. We recently lost the man in May of 2001, but his music lives on. Having had the pleasure of seeing him live, this album catches some of the magic of Top Jimmy. He was known as the greatest blues singer in LA and everyone who was anyone in the music business along with his loyal fans knew this. Why else would Van Halen write a song about him on their album 1984?"
