CD Reviews

Abso-Toot-ly Amazing
Bruddah Haole | Listening to this album! | 12/31/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Every song on this album is truly fantastic. "In the Dark" should appeal to everyone, young & old, and for fans of reggae, this should be the next CD you pick up.It is hard to imagine how the record company decided to leave any song on this album off of the greatest hits package, especially, "Love Gonna Walk Out On Me", which is one of the best songs I have ever heard."
A soul album more than a reggae album!

"This album is a great album!

You just have to make up your mind about what you like the most in music. Is it the soulful gospel voices or the mellow reggae guitar! This album got both, but this album is predominantly a very soulful album in my opinion! I really like this album, but i like "Funky Kingston" better because it is more of a reggae album than "In the Dark". "In the Dark" has some brilliant songs like the title track; "In the dark", the darker; "Love Gonna Walk Out On Me" and the classic "54-36".

This is a great CD and worth every penny! A great great album, but if you are looking for a Toots and the Maytals reggae album buy "Fynky Kingston" instead!"
Reggae Meets 60's/70's American Soul

"One of my top five albums of any genre of music. Hibbert's vocals are passionate and enduring. You'll find the majority of the tracks on their anthology, but not all; and believe me you want them all! I recommend this album highly to any fans of great music."
