Amazon.comSo you thought all the good Brit-pop came from the sceptered isle? Wrong. Seattle's as capable as England of producing it--just take a listen to Toothpaste 2000. These guys write songs and pack plenty of them onto a disc--23, to be exact, so don't complain about value for money. Unlike Noel and Liam, both Frank Bednash and Donna Esposito can actually afford a pair of eyebrows. Also, unlike les freres Gallagher's last outing, this is a very tasty offering. So who cares if they don't have the accents? Once you start listening, you won't even notice, since you'll be wrapped in the cloak of perfect pop. --Chris Nickson
