"Some Tough City.
For those of us that were listening when this came out. We recall A Fine Fine Day and The First Day of Summer on the radio. Both those tunes were heard regularly in 1984. Today with 1980s rock making into classic rock playlists I'm befuddled as to how they've been overlooked as strengths of that era.
Some Tough City is simply one of the best examples of pop/rock of that era. This album still shines through. The songwriting, musicianship and themes are still as relevant as when Tony wrote them.
As other reviewers state one of the brilliant aspects of this record is the storytelling. I'm still moved by A Fine Fine Day. Its a beautiful story. A Lonely Life is also brillant in that it focuses on drugs and what they do to someone.
Other favorites include: Hungry, First Day of Summer and Tinsletown.
Another huge accomplishment of this record is the flow. We start off somewhat mellow then speed up, then slow down. All the songs truely compliment each other. Its a rarity in today's music to find a album that does that.
I could go on and on with this record. Luckily for you I won't. I'll just sum it up with the message get this record. Its an impeccable album that has great strengths. Its truely a shame its not availible right now. I was fortunate to get my CD copy in 2000."

"Thoughtful, deep, timeless rock music. This artist writes and arranges inspiring music on the same level as Bruce Springsteen."

"Tony is a story teller. This album is some of his best songmanship. It is a shame that the album is so hard to find on CD."
