Am I going slightly mad?

"Why has noone reviewed this album? Without categorising it's style, if you enjoy Eric Dolphy or Charles Mingus for the reason that you find them intensely rewarding and cathartic in the way that such music can create a purging expression of an emotion you couldn't identify or convey, then I give you Tommy Smith at his creative peak. Complex yet accesible, the tenor player - spinning Jarrett-esque threads of melody - sometimes takes a back seat to the overall impression of his composition. Expect variety, originality (some Scottish reels - it works!) yet the feeling of a concept album (in my opinion, all most jazz albums are) and a good 69 minutes for your import costs. I would that Mr Smith could reach a wider audience because, for me, there is no other album that better expresses or defines me. That aside, this is truly inspired music. For the discerning."
AMAZING STUFF!!

"Compositionally incredible album from start to finish. Not a bad tune here. A few through-composed pieces with his Scottish roots always evident. Great playing alround. One of my favourite albums in my extensive collection. YAY!"
