Album DescriptionFirst time on CD for these recordings by the Bebop bassist featuring musical assistance from Rolf Ericson, Benny Bailey, Freddie Redd and Joe Harris. This edition compiles material from sessions made in Stockholm, most of them under the name of Tommy Potter. The bassist made a name for himself as a member of Charlie Parker's quintet for three years. American musicians Potter, Freddie Redd and Joe Harris had been brought to Sweden to play modern Jazz along with Rolf Ericson who by then had been living in the United States for a considerable period of time. The music heard here is taken from the three sessions, and in addition to Ericson its personnel included Swedish musicians like tenor saxophonists Gunnar Hacke Bjorksten (AKA Woody Birch) and Erik Nordstrom, trombonist Ake Persson and baritone saxophonist Stig Gabrielsson, plus another American visitor, trumpeter Benny Bailey. 11 tracks. Lone Hill Jazz.
