"This album contains the very first jazz records I heard back in 1949. They remind me very old memories of my youth. To me Tommy Ladnier was one of the best New Orleans trumpet players I know. Mezzrow wrote wonderful songs, but was not as good as a clarinet player. Sidney Bechet is excellent as usual. My favorites are Really the Blues, Royal Garden Blues, Ain't Gonna Give ...., etc.
