CD Reviews

Wurst Is The Best!
Heywood Jablome | Virginia Beach, VA United States | 12/22/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"For the uninitated, Tommy & Rumble are the morning team at FM99, a longtime rock station in the Norfolk-Virginia Beach area. This is something like the 11th CD they've released since they got together in 1995, and features the most popular bits from the previous collections. I strongly disagree with the previous reviewer, because I find the material -- both written and ad-libbed -- extremely strong. Then again, humor is indeed subjective, and I've been a fan since day one. Still, I've played Tommy & Rumble CDs for out-of-town friends many times over the years, and they've never failed to impress. "The Baby Molly Song" is a brilliant parody inspired by the birth of Rick Rumble's child. "Dicken's Cider" is blatant, in your face double entendre at its very best. Check out then Virginia gubernatorial candidate Mark Warner debating the fictional, completely deranged "Roy Forehead" and remember that you just might be listening to a future presidential candidate (Warner, not Forehead). "The Wurst Of Tommy & Rumble" displays the full range of this gifted team and would be well worth the money even without the charity angle."

"Great new CD. I have been waiting for some of this material to come out for a long time. What are you wearing is my fav. Buy one for all your friends for Christmas. You'll be helping a great cause by doing so."
