Devil You Know has more great Todd Snider songs performed extremely well.
Nice coherent studio album
Consistent Quality
These same songs heard live are also very unique and satisfying.
The rocking songs done live in a more toned down acoustic style make the stock for these studio versions sky rocket.
Another Excellent Album By Todd Snider!

Struggling Artist - Rare Footage! - Not So Mainstream!

"A risky strategy!
This video could have been better served, but a struggling artist passing along raw footage in his prime is awesome!
You didn't want him to throw a fishin' line in that ol mainstream.
And he didn't....
This video is the right price with the right stuff in the nick of time.
Just what every TS fan has been needin'. A way out without leaving.
***Super High Quality*** audio and filming done just right.
Very interesting watch as Todd goes face to face with the camera you know.
He looks like, maybe lately, he has been doing alright!
I enjoy it and will again!
Thanks again Todd
and hang in there!
TIME
has come today!

A Great Album, but I'm Not Surprised

"Todd Snider is a thirty-nine year old Nashville, singer/song-writer who has been writing music for nearly twenty years now. Over the years he has released East Nashville Skyline and Songs for the Daily Planet and now "The Devil You Know". All being great albums with Snider's loose, charming and fun attitude with his music.
The title song states "There's a war going on that the poor can't win". It gives you an idea of what's to come. The album is filled with solo tracks as well as band-backed songs. His lyrics are far from shallow. "You Got Away With It" is about a prank where three party'n frat brothers beat up a sissy without any consequences. This southern guitarist/song-writer put out a great album here and it's one that doesn't disappoint."

"Let me first say that I had never hear of Todd Snider until I went to a show several years back with some friends. It was one of those rare transformational performances that held me transfixed, singing his songs the next day and beyond and immediately buying several albums. He is the real deal.
This album is one of my favorites, it seems to mark a transition into a more polished studio sound for him, which I think is nice, especially to hear the different versions between the studio and live performances. Several songs get the full on rock out treatment (If tomorrow never comes, The Devil You Know), which I love.
Todd Snider clearly digs what he does, and I dig it too. He deserves all the acclaim and sucess that comes his way."
