"I just recently got this cd, it is a wonderful mix of styles, i don't really know what to call it. it seems like a perfect soundtrack for something that could be happening in our everyday lives, a complex storywork of music. It is at times bohemian, wild and gypsyish, a real mesh of things. It reminds me of somewhere foreign, maybe a drippy dark day paris, or italy, running through the alleyways trying to escape something, dancing in the gutters......Tom Waits guest appearance is excellent."
Well Rewarded for Listening Carefully

"Though the rhythms and melodies on this CD are enough to catch ones attention on the first listen, the extraordinary level of detail and wide range of sounds gives it a depth that rewards repeated listenings. These thoughtful, talented and sophisticated musicians have crafted an innovative and satisfying set. Though this has fewer improvised flights of fancy than Memory is An Elephant, it too has a bright energy and shows ample imagination. The tunes are well-ordered and the final Helium Reprise featuring Tom Waits is a wonderful surprise."
