Early Story

"Although this is one of Tim Story's earlier works, it is not his best. To be sure, there are some hints of Story's later compositions which reflect a greater sense of structure, feeling and musical maturity. However, in many of the tracks on this CD, there is a sense of the artist sitting down at the keyboard and experimenting with sound combinations rather than writing from the soul. I recommend Three Feet From the Moon for a more emotionally satisfying Tim Story listening experience."
Tim Story's first release

"For fans of Tim Story, this his first release, material recorded in 1978-79, is well worth tracking down. 'Abridged'- the compilation of 'hits' of his work up to (but excluding) 'Glass Green' ('87) was my introduction to 3 of the 11 compositions here. And on the beauty of those 3 songs I decided to get this cd. The original cd had 8 tracks, and here you have 3 'bonus' tracks. Although the 1st and last compositions of the original release are not typical Story (they remind me of Jean-Michel Jarre), tracks 2-7 are all outstanding. The Moors is one of his best compositions, in my opinion. 'Untitled' and 'Three Feet from the Moon' ('84 and '85) are both highly recommended, as well. (I have yet to hear 'In Another Country' ('82) and have 'Wheat and Rust' ('86), which is very good, but more for completists, not to mention rather difficult to find)."
