GODFREY | Risca, South Wales | 02/11/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "Before forming Steeleye Span, Tim Hart and Maddy Prior were a major attraction around the folk clubs of Britain. Although understandably a little thin on production values, this is a wonderful period piece which is every bit as enjoyable now as when it was first recorded back in the late sixties. Maddy's vocals are as glorious as ever; Tim's slightly nasal delivery is the only relatively weak point but he provides effective harmony and instrumental support. A very satisfying mix of humourous and more reflectve songs, this is an album of timeless quality which gives some interesting pointers to the direction Steeleye Span would soon be taking. Definitely worth adding to your collection."
