Synopsis

Product Description
Contemporary Folk/Rocker Tim Easton has been driven westward both geographically and musically since his college days in Ohio. On his 5th album, Porcupine, the Joshua Tree, CA resident returns to his midwestern sound and lets a myriad of guitar riffs rooted in blues, rock, and folk set the color for observational lyrics capturing life from the desert to the sea and around the world. The new album finds Tim's writing skills sharpened, possibly inspired by his friend and mentor Lucinda Williams. Easton, known for his non-stop touring (from Dublin to Anchorage to Bangor to Jacksonville), will be on the road with a band, supporting Porcupine beginning this Spring.

CD Reviews

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Along with artists such as Chuck Prophet and Joe Henry, Tim Easton has gone from a decent but somewhat pedestrian songwriter to a first class songsmith that

brings his soul to the proceedings. The album Break Your Mother's Heart was the first of his works that I bought, I don't listen to it much. Ammunition, his next album was a giant step forward in terms of songwriting, more folky than the former with some first rate tunes. Porcupine continues his ascent toward songwriting greatness.

Burgundy Red, the first song on Porcupine, is a statement of intent-it rocks your

sox off as do the songs Porcupine and Get What I Got. Baltimore and Stormy are both

lusty and soulful. Northbound starts out like classic John Fogerty and will stick in your brain.

If you like top-notch folk/roots rock this guy is the most improved player and this

album won't let you down- did I say he has a great weather-worn voice?"
A stunning masterpiece!

"My feelings are of an acoustical intonated overload. Beautiful timing and long melodies persist throughout. The necessity to hear this music again seems to be unclear, but wanting. This music is made for headphones or the automobile. The poetry is made for the intellect, but still accessible on a warm morning when you are driving to work. Porcupine is one of the most sincere musical cycles I have heard in years. That's refreshing! Give yourself a pleasant treat, buy it now and listen!"
