"Tierra is still together after 25 years. I saw them perform in Los Angeles recently and they are better than ever. This CD doesn't capture the excitement of their live sound but it does a good job of representing the diversity and creativity in their music. The songs "Tonight", "Sugar" and "What did I get myself into", have catchy and uplifting grooves but the gem of Tierra are the harmonies and ballad songwriting. This is best exemplified in the song "A Place called Home". This one song is worth the price of the CD.Another pleasant surprise is "Gema", a salsa version of a beautiful traditional Mexican Bollero.Tierra has other CD's available, "Street Corner Gold", "New Beginning", "Precious Memories" and an exciting double CD of a live concert with the legendary Malo (Suavecito, Nena, Cafe), and El Chicano (Viva Tirado, Brown Eyed Girl, Tell her she's Lovely)called "LATIN LEGENDS LIVE", released on Thump Records in 1997.Write me and let me know what your thoughts are in regards to Tierra. Thanks."
