Let me be there next time....

"Well, I can say Dolores Keane is not your average tune carried in a bucket ingenue sent over from the modeling agency, no. I hate, though, to go on about how some CD is so authentic sounding, seeing as how I'm not sitting in a village in Ireland or Norway hearing Eriksen and Keane respectively, which would be authentic, but still Tideland is nice and "modern authentic." I'd never heard of either singer before, nor any of the accompanying musicians, but it comes together very well. I'm coming off a deep affair with Noside.com's mod Scandi-folk, so this didn't have the same sort of Viking ghost bite. Eriksen is a modern voice, emulating possibly American country singing. Amazing is how lovely the fiddling, as well as other instruments, of Ireland and Norway mesh and complement. I usually hate "the attack of the afro-celtic whales," but this is tasteful and gimmick-free."
