"I like almost all of MMC's releases (and I have quite a few), but this one stands out. The McKinley Concerto is a gem and Carbon's Concerto is a solid addition to the repertoire that I hope will be around for a long time. Kudos to Zimmermann and Zazofsky for bringing this music to us!"

"We studied the Carbon concerto in orchestration class and I really like it. Axtually, the other two pieces are good too! Even if you don't like modern music you'll like this cd."

"This is a landmark recording--three new works for orchestra and violin worth hearing! You'll enjoy the Chumbley and Carbon most for their depth and expertise --the McKinley is a romp and fun too. Carbon's concerto is a cut above and one of the best late 20th Century concertos out there."

"John Carbon's new concerto is romantic and exciting. I use this piece in my orchestration class as an example of masterful 20th-Century orchestration. My students love it. I hope this recording stays in print for a long, long time. The McKinley work is worth listening to, but the Chumbley wanders and is long winded."
Worth the trouble

"I don't know why this takes so long to get! Actually it's frustrating becaise I love John Carbon's music and have only seen 4-5 CDS over the years. This is a good album all around--all the pieces are solid and my favorite (Carbon) is a knockout."
