"Thelma Houston and Jerry Butler are brilliant together in every way and this is one of the greatest duet albums ever made and over the years has become my personal all time favorite! From the cooker of an opener "Only The Beginning" to the sensuous and soulful "And You've Got Me", you can tell right off that these soulful legends are clearly in peak form!! Jerry's smoldering voice mixed with Thelma's pure yet urgent vocals form a satisfying and unforgettable experience. "It's A Lifetime Thing" is beautifully romantic and passion explodes when Chicago's "If You Leaves Me Now" becomes a great medley with Brother Gibb's "Love So Right". This brilliant duet is one that you will listen to over and over as Thelma and Jerry are both superb and turn this into a classic tour-de-force. The rhymthic "I Love You Through Windows" is exuberant and fun and Stevie Wonders "Joy Inside My Tears" is a smoldering soul classic that is turned inside out with vocals that are stunning. A celebration of new romance in "Sweet Love I've Found" is exciting and love gone bad is haunting and heartbreaking in "(Play The Game Of)Let's Pretend". A riveting celebration ends this great set and "Let's Get Together" should have been a huge hit as this duet is infectious and one of the many that you will play over and over!! Motown should release all of the Thelma & Jerry duets as they are timeless classic's that will never be duplicated. Bravo to these two incredible talents who have always turned out great works individually and came together and created a lasting classic!!! Thank you Thelma Houston and Jerry Butler!!!"

"What a duo! These two are grand in their own reputation, so when they teamed up for a duet album sparks had to fly.And sparks do fly on the opening number "Only the Beginning". "And You've Got Me" is quite a production number with a soulful duet and wonderful arrangement. The "Medley: If You Leave Me Now/Love So Right" is one of those rare spectacular numbers that just smoulders. Stevie Wonder must have been pleased with the way Thelma and Jerry burn the track "Joy Inside My Tears". A hot cooker, "Let's Get Together" is the finale for a great rare soul duo. This was a limited release and well worth having in your collection if you love Thelma Houston and/or Jerry Butler."
