Great CD - music is jazzy, bluesy, folk with great lyrics and music. This was my first CD of this group and I love it and am on the hunt for more of their music!

What a find!

"I stumbled on "Raw Voice" on a promotional CD of Canadian music I received with a magazine subscription. I really couldn't believe that I had never heard these women before. We have a pretty decent radio station that plays a variety of progressive popular music, and I'm still amazed that they haven't caught on. The whole package is a treat-- the melodies, lyrics, individual voices, harmonies and instrumental backup are all top-notch. I'm not sure exactly where the Wyrd's music gets filed-- I find it a unique blend of folk/rock/jazz/pop. I ordered the "Raw Voice" CD based on the quality of the title cut on my freebie sampler. I have not always met with success when following up on one good song from an unknown group, but this time the whole CD swept me away. I went on to purchase "Inside the Dreaming," the Wyrd's prior CD, and was in store for another treat. Favorite cuts for me from the "Raw Voice" CD are "Raw Voice," "Letter from You," "untitled," and "Borrowed Time." From "Inside the Dreaming" I find myself listening to "3000 Million," "Dance Little Brother," and "Farewell to Clyoquot Sound" repeatedly. However, there really isn't a song on either CD that I don't enjoy hearing over and over. I have purchased these CD's as gifts for just about every friend or relative I have with good musical taste and have gotten the Wyrds a number of new fans in the process. They've been tantalizing us with word of their new recording for some time now and I'm trying to wait patiently, hoping their next effort can match their previous offerings if we can give them enough time!"

"Absolutely gorgeous CD ... alternately haunting and joyous. Definitely a moving portrait of struggle against odds. Very singable. One of those CDs where you don't have to skip any tracks ... everything is stellar. Lyrically wise, full of musical depth. If you have a chance to see the Wyrd Sisters live, do it. They put on a gutsy show that succeeds in connecting with the audience. If you like anything from kd lang to the Indigo Girls to Jewel to any sort of older women's music (Meg Christian, Holly Near, Cris Williamson, etc.), you'll love this CD."

"I received two CDs in the mail as a gift from a friend. They were incredible! The music is powerful and the voices are so rich. I found myself swept away every time I played the CDs (which was a lot.) I found their website and can't wait for them to perform in my area. I wouldn't miss it. I have had these CDs for over a year now and they are still at the top of the play list for me. These women create beauty through lyric and sound. They are truly artists."
