An amazing CD. The Wood Brothers are a side project of Wood (of Martin, Medeski & Wood fame), though this CD certainly doesn't fit the "ambient" MMW style. This is a great take on old school blues... I really loved this CD. Shouldn't be in the Country Genre though as listed with the name. Definately more blues than anything else IMO.

Funky folk and blues mix--well worth a listen

"Oh, how do you describe these guys? You've got two brothers who sing in harmony like they were twins with some kind of rhythmic connection. Oliver is the primary singer and brother Chris plays the upright bass. You're hearing folk songs with a jazz bass backbeat.

I can't say I have a favorite song on this CD: "Chocolate on my Tongue" started out to be for obvious reasons, then "The Luckiest Man."

If you like different, give these brothers a listen. They're well worth hearing and I think like me, you'll be hooked.

"This album will quickly become one of your core personal favorites. I saw these guys live at a tiny venue in Birmingham and all I can say is WOW! I've NEVER seen the upright bass played like that. See these guys live; buy all their albums. I'm too old to be a groupie, but boy if I wasn't!! I saw Medeski play live in Chicago (Medeski Martin & Wood) and would highly recommend any of his albums as well!"
