HURT NOT THE OIL AND THE WINE is a dark and brooding play about the councequences of love and war, the condition of the human animal, and the events that unfolded in a time and place that feels familiar, but that we can no longer remember. On the play's outset we discover there is something much more than blistered windpipes bellowing lyrics over driving rhythms. We follow heroes, lovers, queens and kings through a sonic apocolypse that drives the listener's imagination. Fragilities of modern rock dangle from shreds of Appalachian Folk torn to pieces by blistering synths and electronic beats. Like every play, we see the characters develop before our eyes and follow them to their romantic, often gruesome ending. But sometimes the end is just the beginning. Released 2006, The Ugly Facade has stumbled onto something you can't help but feel like you heard in a past life.
