"The T-Bones were a surf rock instrumental combo who hit paydirt in 1966 with their cover of an Alka-Seltzer television commercial jingle, entitled "No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach's In)". The popularity of this humorous TV ad no doubt helped push the T-Bones' single into the national top 5. This is the LP that followed. While "No Matter What Shape" is the obvious highlight of the album, there are some other enjoyable tracks here as well, although none of it could be considered groundbreaking or essential. The tracks that made up the follow-up single, "Sippin' 'N Chippin'" b/w "Moment Of Softness" are probably the best, and these two songs were also popular TV commercial jingles. The album is rounded out by instrumental renditions of some of the big hits of the day -- covers ranging from The Four Seasons to Bob Dylan. The liner notes tell the history behind the band and how three key members went on to success in the 1970's under the moniker of Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. Although not a classic LP, NO MATTER WHAT SHAPE is a nice slice of 60's nostalgia and demonstrates that the T-Bones were a very talented instrumental aggregation."
