The Swivs are dysfunctionally Keane!

"OK, I thought my comics were pretty bad, because if you remove the words and just keep the drawings, people can add their own odd interpretations, and I've had to shut down websites doing just that. Well, the Swivs don't even _HAVE_ words, and you can still smell the perversion in their surf-alicious goodness! Imagine if I called a book with Dolly on the cover "The Bare Naked Bed Dance" and you'll see what I mean! And "I'm engaged?" Engaged in what? Their seductive song of fowl (Royal Chicken a Go Go) is worse than any pasta mispronunciations I've engaged in. Yet, despite the bassist's near-satanic name (Damian), the drummer's suggestive one (Helmet), and the lead guitarist's unholy height (6'10"), I find the Fezmen irresistable! While there are no objectionable words, I'm sure the CAPalert would agree with me that this simply must be an R-rated album."

"excerpt from an email sent to the band's masseuse, after she sent the Swivs CD to her friend, a bassist for a C/W band. "What a find! The CD is WONDERFUL! Talk about amazing musicians! I am SO impressed! You massage one of those guys?? I could see what hey'd need massage; they play fast! These guys have GOT to get picked up for movie soundtracks and such ... they're just TOO perfect not to be! Love their Z-card (inside) too; very creative, very original. Man, the bass player puts me to shame! (Speed, I'm told, comes with time and I've stopped having any to put into it!) I had your CD on, I was dancin' ... wish I knew more belly dancing; bet it's great fun to do "with" it ... and I so seldom get to hear "new" bands ... don't go out as much as I used to ... so it was specially a treat! Now, must go out and dance some more!""
A brilliant accomplishment

"Music that makes one laugh without words! A brilliant accomplishment! :) Mostly hard rock, with a touch of belly dancing music, a touch of blues, a touch of Christmas, a lot of the spirit of Klezmer and much, much else, this band is electrifyingly, wonderfully silly and refreshing at the same time! One *must* get up and dance, taking occasional breaks to collapse into laughter...truly a band to which it is a joy to listen...dear music lover from Baltimore, perhaps you just missed the joke? Listen again...and even the not-so-attractive are allowed to dance, especially to music like this! :)"

"This CD is great! reminds me of the music in a Quentin Tarantino film, Like in Pulp Fiction in the $5 dollar milkshake dialog. No lyrics, but a nice change. I would suggest adding this to your collection. Reverend Jasen A. Stengel"

"I picked up the Swiv-O-Matics album about a week ago, and let me just say that they seriously rock out on guitar. I had no idea that 'surf guitar' had survived the 70's (especially on the EAST COAST!) but the Swivs are the clear inheritors of the Dick Dale legacy. With a fresh style and a 90's sensibility, they bring new life to an old form. But don't just take -my- word for it!"
