Product DescriptionFormed in Orlando, FL in 2006, The Superions are the most exciting group to hit the music scene since Elvis or Lady GaGa (or Susan Boyle for that matter). Fred Schneider, Noah Brodie and Dan Marshall were just somewhat normal guys when their bodies, minds, and souls were taken over by alien beings from the planet Superion. Now real talented, they perpetrated magic with their first digital release, 'Totally Nude Island' on October 31, 2008. Take soft tradewinds, a healthy dose of tropical passion, and a deadly volcano and voila!: an instant classic destined to sell millions, or a lot less, was born. Following on the heels of this multi-plater, real popular song, The Superions return with the new smash 'Who Threw That Ham At Me'. Destined to be another hit (they hope), "Ham" arrived as a digital single on November 24, 2009, just in time for the holiday season: "Who doesn't love a juicy, fatty, salty, canned ham covered in pineapple slices and those red dye #2 cherries?" asks music programmer Dan Marshall. "I don't" says vocalist, lyricist Fred Schneider. "I'm a vegetarian." "Where's the sweet potatoes with marshmallows?" adds keyboardist Noah Brodie. "Ham" is a cautionary tale about the serious crime of shoplifting, set to a bouncy disco beat. Fred: "It's based on a true story someone told someone I know." "Yeah, don't do it!" says Dan with a stern countenance. "I saw a woman in a movie stick a big steak down her pants" adds Noah. "Hey you knuckleheads, you forgot The Disco Garbage Can!" squawks Mr. Bird, The World's Smartest Azure Lovebird and advice columnist for 'Ask. Mr. Bird' on twitter. "Oh boy thanks Mr. B," laughs Fred. "We've created a new dance craze sure to sweep the nation called The Disco Garbage Can." As they've said, The Superions came to Earth from the planet Superion a few years ago to seek fame and fortune. "Well, actually they asked us to leave" says Fred somewhat wistfully. "What started out as just a fun get-together has turned into a full-time creative endeavor." "I agree Noah," adds Dan, "except we also have full-time jobs too." "Well planet Superion's loss is Earth's gain," this inquisitive journalist chimes in. "What do you guys like to do in your spare time?" "I'm an ace at Rock Band," says Noah proudly. "Oh please," Fred continues, "remember I got booed off singing 'Love Shack'?" Fred seems depressed by the memory. "I want to study macramé," pipes Dan. "It's truly a dying art." I'm amazed at how busy they all are. "Jeez, what is it you guys don't do?", I ask. "Lunch", The Superions say in unison, and then burst into hearty laughter. The 7-track EP is available as a digital download, CD and limited edition 12" vinyl and will include two new tracks, 'Those Sexy Saucer Gals' and the brand new single 'Who Threw That Ham At Me', available now on iTunes. The EP will also include the original version of 'Totally Nude Island', the U.S. radio success 'Totally Nude Island (Ursula 1000 Remix)' and new remixes of 'Totally Nude Island' by The Lolligags and Marshmallow Coast featuring Andy Gonzales, former member of Of Montreal, plus a remix of 'Who Threw That Ham At Me' by Casper & The Cookies featuring Jason NeSmith, also a former member of Of Montreal.
