"I am extremely sad that I did not buy this cd when it first came out. I decided not to buy it because of all of the negative reviews I had read on Amazon. However, i recently borrowed it from my local library, because i liked their first cd so much, and i have to say, IT IS AMAZING. I don't know what these people are on that they can give this album one star. From the very first song, I loved this album.



Logic is an album that when i see it in my music collection I think to myself, "man, I love that album, but i don't feel like listening to it now." For me, Logic is one of those albums that i have to be listening to enjoy (I am not usually in the mood to listen to it, but when i do i remember why i like it so much). However, for Without Feathers, whenever i see it, or it comes pops into my mind, i can only think about how much i want to listen to it. It really is an amazing album, and it saddens me that it only has three stars (especially when all britney spears' albums are higher rated).



Anyway...



One of the major differences in this album is that it sounds happier. They use different, and in my opinion, more aurally pleasing harmonies. Also, it is not as repetitive sounding as Logic. Don't get me wrong, I love the songs on Logic, but when I think about them, I just don't find them as musically interesting as the songs on Without Feathers. There are wider and more melodic range of harmonies on Without Feathers. It just sounds great! In my opinion, it is a step up from Logic.



I really just can't understand how fans of the band can give this album 1 star. I could understand four, if they liked the first album better, but no less. SO, BEFORE YOU RULE OUT THIS ALBUM BECAUSE OF THE MULTITUDE OF NEGATIVE REVIEWS, GIVE IT A LISTEN. IF YOU ARE A FAN OF MUSIC, YOU WILL LIKE IT. I PROMISE."

GREAT band, HORRIBLE album

"The Stills debut 'Logic Will Break Your Heart' is absolutely one of the most amazing albums I've ever owned. In my collection of over 800 CDs it's up there in the top 10 possibly the top 5. I also own their 4 song EP 'Rememberese' from 2001. Also seen em live in concert. I consider myself a huge fan. needless to say i was pumped for this next record of theirs. upon putting it on for the first time i too could not believe it was the same band from several years ago. none of their signature sound was present and each song sounded like filler as i kept advancing the CD in hopes that there might be just ONE good song. sad to say but there's really not. to be quite honest this album is awful, and it pains me to say that with my experience from the first album which nearly defined several years of my life. i can't even secretly pretend to like this album its that bad. all i can say is im very hopeful that their new album will be better. From what i've heard they have improved their overall cohesion as a band. We can only keep our fingers crossed."

"Theory 1:



This might be a classic example of a band producing great work as a direct result of their environment, i.e. KoRn's John Davis channeling his anguish into their self-titled debut masterpiece. Then once the band's situation completely changes (they get popular, fat, and happy), their muse is gone.



Theory 2:



They had all these years to produce great music and then they had a bunch of songs to pick and choose from for their masterpiece, "Logic Will Break Your Heart" then this horrible horrible album was put out with only a few years of work involved.



Theory 3:



Someone besides the leader in the band had an ego, so the leader of the group (usually the singer) was like, "Fine, we'll do it your way and see how it turns out." And if it sucks they can blame it on that guy. I hate that guy."
