"Scott Morgan, Nicke Andersson (of The Hellacopters) & Co. once again deliver a superb album of old school, classic southern soul with a fresh, contemporary feel. From the brilliant original opening track ("You Got To Come Down" -- at this writing No. 1 on the Berlin radio charts) to the well-chosen reworked covers, this is an album that simply makes 95% plus of CD releases these days seem quite pale, indeed. The band arrangements -- keyboard fills, horn charts, background vocals -- are all imaginative, natural and sounding just sooo gooood. . . . The real star, however, is Scott Morgan -- one of the greatest rock & soul singers of all time. A masterful artist who still keeps getting better. A lot of energy, incredible subtlety, nuanced phrasing and total authority -- never a hint that he's working at it or trying too hard. It's just there. Nicke Andersson did a good share of the writing and arranging (as well as the drumming) and, like the first Solution album, has done an astounding job himself, turning out material and performances of rare depth and maturity. Yes, it's a bit expensive (for now at least); but it is a truly great album -- one that anyone who knows how to appreciate great music will almost certainly listen to many a time."

"Scott Morgan is all you reakky need to know about this disc. To my ears this is the closest to what The Rationals should have become had they stayed together. This is Scott playing with a Swedish band, The Solution. He also plays with Powertrane in Ann Arbor MI, and The Hydromatics. Sure must keep him busy, especially if he's still continuing with Scott's Pirates, and maybe the occasional Sonic Rendezvous Band get-togethers. Anything he releases is first rate, and I can't wait for the 2 cd Rationals anthology coming from England in the next couple of months.
This album has the soul The Rationals were trying for, the power of The Hydromatics and Powertrane, more focus than Scott's Pirates, and should be the band to put him back in the spotlight. Until you hear Powertrane's 2 + 2, the old Bob Seger anti-war song, redone and updated from the jungles of Nam to the deserts of Iraq, and you realize he can switch back and forth as easily as hopping that plane between Europe & Michigan. Everything this man touches turns to gold but nobody hears him. Maybe because he has so much going on (4 bands and counting)nothing can be focused upon and truly given the acclaim that he's due. Much of Scott's stuff is out of print by now, and it takes some digging to find his affordable music, but it's worth it. In the end, its all worth it. If you can, order the 2 + 2 single from his website or wherever you can find it.
From garage band, blue-eyed soul with the Rationals to Detroit heavy music with Hydromatics & Powertrane & Sonic's Rendezvous Band, back to blue-eyed soul with The Solution, Scott Morgan has done it all. Give it a listen, please, you won't regret it."
